Apostrophe 2 theme from free WordPress to paid hosting setup
-
Hi, I am new to blogging.
I started up my free WordPress blog and enjoyed setting it up: https://ketohealthandlifestyle.wordpress.com
Now I’ve got paid shared hosting and setup WordPress:
https://ketohealthandlifestyle.com
I installed the apostrophe 2 theme as per the free website. I saved and exported the free blog and media and uploaded to the paid hosting and its not setting up correctly.
There’s image errors not showing and the logo isn’t showing and the header text is out of alignment. I’ve deleted the media and reuploaded and set featured images. I’ve deleted the 3 posts and reuploaded them one by one and then added the images again. All images seem to be optimised (less than 1mb).
What am I doing wrong?
I just want my new site to look similar to the old with the basic outline and featured images.
Do I need to get an expert involved as I’m spending way to much time searching the internet trying to find solutions that are not working. I’d rather they and work out the problems myself as this would be good for my knowledge going forward. But sometimes we have to admit defeat?
I’m not an expert in WordPress, this is my first experimentation with WordPress.
The default theme on the hosting was the twenty twenty four theme which after playing around with it seemed really complicated.
Should I just reset and persevere with the twenty twenty four theme? I like the apostrophe 2 interface for finding things.
Any help appreciated as this has been a long winded process for something I thought would be quite straight forward.

Hey @averageoldergamer, if the site you have with us is set up the way you like it, would you consider hosting here instead of using a copy of the DIY code with another host? We’re able to provide support and management, or you might ask your host for help to see what’s wrong with the images and whatnot. You’re welcome to connect your domain with any of our paid plans, including this one:
Otherwise, Apostrophe 2 may use features from Jetpack, so if you want to keep working with your own copy of WordPress, you might try installing and connecting Jetpack to see if that helps. Then you would use the WordPress.org documentation and forums if you need help going forward. Here’s more about the difference between the free code and our managed services.
Hoping this helps!
