Apostrophe Theme: Featured Content Not Available
-
I’m working on customizing the Apostrophe Theme, specifically trying to mark a post as “Featured Content”. The documentation says, “…configure the Featured Content module from Appearance → Customize → Featured Content. From there, you’ll be able to select a tag for all your featured posts.” However, there is no ‘Featured Content’ item in my customization panel. I’ve read there was a previous issue with this weeks ago but supposedly was resolved in early June. I downloaded the template June 21st.
Thanks for your help.

Could you provide a link to your site running Apostrophe on WordPress.com so I can take a look? I’m not seeing any under this account.

Looks like that’s not a WordPress.com site, but a site running WordPress software on your own hosting. I think I see the issue. To use Featured Content you need to activate the Jetpack plugin. You can then add your featured tag in the Customizer’s Theme Options section.
Let me know if this does the trick.

If anyone else needs help with a the self-hosted version of Apostrophe running on your own hosting, please post in the WordPress.org support forums, since these ones are for folks hosted here on WordPress.com.
You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post – if you don’t already have one, you can register here:
https://wordpress.org/support/register.php
Since Apostrophe isn’t in the WordPress.org theme directory, be sure you add this tag to the tags area of the post:
wpcom-theme
