I added the location map widget and a new category a few weeks ago but they don’t seem to be showing on my blog. I’ve cleared the cache and fiddled around with the settings but nothing seems to make a difference. Is there a quick-fix or is it a hosting problem?
Thanks!

What is “location map widget”? Are your referring to the Google map that I see here? http://lauralovesit.wordpress.com/2012/07/14/londons-best-afternoon-teas-in-my-opinion/

Pages bloggers create are static and do not update. We cannot post directly to them at all. Categories cane be assigned to posts only, not to pages. When we publish a post that has a category assigned to it the sofware automatically places that post on the dynamic automatically updating category pages. We create a custom menu and then we add the dynamic Categories pages to it.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-category-pages-to-your-menuThere is no data to be displayed under any Category until there is a published post with that category assigned to it.

@vastlycurious
I will answer this question for you but in the future when you cannot locate an on-topic thread to post into you will create you own threads https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 rather than posting off-topic into existing threads.You can change you Blog Title and/or the optional Tagline at any time on this page > Settings > General

I think it’s called the geolocation tag? It is supposed to show automatically next to each post but it doesn’t.
I get so lost in the dashboard that now I can’t find it again to tell you exactly what it’s called!
Thanks for your help.
