Appearance – Editor not there
-
Hi there,
I am new to WordPress.com, and am sure that this question must have been asked before – can’t seem to find any answer to my question when I googled it online.
At the bottom of my website, http://www.lakshminz.com, you can see Blog at WordPress.com. | The Edin Theme.
I would like to remove this. When I googled this, the answer was to go to Appearance->Editor. However, I can’t see this option in my list.
Any ideas why?
I bought the domain name, and have the Basic package – in case this info helps.
I am using the Edin theme.
Can someone please help with this?
Thanks,
YashThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello yashasviac,
If you had either the Premium or Business plan, you could customize the look and feel of your site. You could do something like this to hide the footer:
.site-info { display: none; }More about WordPress.com plans:

Thanks daschultemn – that helps.
So, just to confirm – it is not possible to remove the footnote with the Basic package, is that right?
Thanks,
Yash -
Regardless of upgrades, removal of footer credit links is a Terms of Service violation that will result in blog suspension. Though removing footer credit links, which leads to the untrue assumption that you designed the theme, and that you are hosting it yourself is not allowed, it’s possible to add your own text to the footer area using CSS if you have purchased the Business bundle or Premium bundle of upgrades containing the Custom Design upgrade. Then you can include styling credit if you have done any unique styling and/or include a copyright notice.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/If you want to add to the footer using CSS editing please use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can copy and paste your text into a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need.
Added info:
If all you want to include is a copyright many bloggers do that by including a copyright notice in a text widget.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/#1-include-a-very-clear-copyright-notice-on-your-blogSome like myself link that text widget notice to a copyright page like this one http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/copyright/

It seems that I’ll have to amend my earlier statement.
Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar.

Sorry, yashasviac.

Ah ok, thanks guys. Makes a lot of sense.
So, effectively, any website using a theme through WordPress needs to have the credit to that theme in their website.
Ok, thanks. :)
