appearance has changed

I’ve been doing this blog all year now but recently the appearance has changed when I type my info and I don’t know what I did nor how to undo it. Before, the text was a noraml script…I could add photos and they would appear within the body of the text – now, whenever I want to “bold” something, the instructions (ie “strong” ) show up after my written words and all my photos show up in script form at the top of the page – even the dashboard page looks different. Did a change occur overall or have I done something? Prefer to have it changed back to what it was before. I’m not tremendously “computer friendly” so not sure what has transpired

You might be in the “Text” section of your post, rather than the “Visual” section. When you are typing a new post, the box that you are typing in has two tabs in the right-hand corner. One says “Visual” and the other says “Text.” The “Text” tab allows you to see the html coding and such. The “Visual” tab allows you to see the post as it will look when it is posted (sort of), with the graphic that you have chosen, etc. Check to make sure that you are in “Visual” mode and not in “Text” mode.

ok – when I try to click on “visual” mode, it won’t go to that – there’s no place that indciates my cursor is on the text area – ie I can’t type anything

That’s weird. It explains why you are only seeing your coded post, though. You are in text mode. But that doesn’t help if you can’t get into visual mode. I’m not sure what the problem is there. Timethief is a WordPress genius, though. She has helped me many times, so maybe she will have some ideas.
