Appearance home page (posting image and text)

I’m working on the “Structure” theme, I would really love to personalize my home page. And I don’t find on the board, where I can work on it. I would like to add an image under the menu and a small text. I may be suppress the texts below… The widgets are only possible on “Home page top right”.

Thank you. The answer is here, but I don’t understand it :
“To set a featured image, you click the “Add an Image” button or the “Set featured image” tab of the Featured Image module (on the post editor screen), select from computer, upload, click “Use as featured image”, wait till it saves, close box. (If you see no Featured Image module, click Screen Options to activate it.)”
I don’t find the “post editor screen” and so I don’t see the “set featured image tab” !

No, the answer isn’t there. That answer applies to the default blog front (latest posts), but you’ve set a static page as your blog front. To display an image below the menu on that page, you can only edit the page and insert an image in it. If you wish, you can also select the full-width template for that page.

And what should I do if I don’t set a static page, which is my wish… and my first idea (I set a static page temporary, waiting for a solution) ?

Then you need to create a post in Posts > Add New and set a suitable featured image to it.
