  I don’t have an appearance menu on my sidebar so I can’t edit my menus

  To access widgets go here > Appearance > Widgets
  To access custom menus go here > Appearance > Menus

  If you really don’t have an Appearance menu on the dashboard sidebar, then you aren’t the administrator of the blog.
