Appearance: Mobile Themes

  For a while, I could switch between the mobile theme appearance (where the posts are tiled) on my iPad. There was a place to do so at the bottom of the webpage. Now, it is gone from my iPad, although a “View Full Size” option is available at the bottom of my iPhone.
  My blog’s theme is Twenty Ten and, as I said, I used to be able to toggle between the 2 mobile themes.
  My mobile themes are set: ENABLE MOBILE THEME: YES;
  ALWAYS SHOW POSTS ON THE FRONT PAGE : NO;
  SHOW EXCERPTS ON FRONT PAGE … YES;
  TURN OFF THE CUSTOM HEADER TEXT COLOR: YES.

  I’ve cleared my cache of cookies and history, I’ve searched the Forum looking for a similar problem.
  How can I turn back on the newer, mobile theme display on my iPad if the “switch” is no longer appearing on the bottom of the webpage?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The iPad theme was retired several months ago.

  You might want to consider switching to Twenty Eleven, which is similar to Twenty Ten and is fully responsive, so it adapts to all screen sizes: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyeleven/

  I did as you suggested, converting to Twenty Eleven, and the mobile theme fo Twenty Eleven works on my iPhone5. Thank you. We’re almost there!

  It still does not offer me a way to revert to the mobile theme on my iPad 2, however. Rather than show a tiled first page or abbreviated postings, each post is displayed in full. There is still no “switch”, at the end of the page, to go back-and-forth between theme display types as is indicated in the forum posts. The switch is present, however, on the end of the webpage when viewed on my iPhone.

  Right, as mentioned, the iPad mobile theme was retired several months ago: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-onswipe-ipad-theme-is-no-longer-available-on-new-blogs

  Twenty Eleven is fully responsive and will adapt to the iPad’s screen size, but there is no longer a dedicated iPad-specific view at WordPress.com.
