Appearance of blog on iMac

  My blog is appearing okay on my MACbook but not on my iMac. It appears with lots of vertical coloured stripes on the background on my iMac. Any help as to why this is occurring would be greatly appreciated. If I could attach a screenshot of it here I would.

  Hi there,

  That issue sounds pretty odd, so I would definitely like to see a screenshot of that. Just add your screenshot to your Media Library of your site (Media>Add New) and let me know it is there so I can take a look.

  Also, does it happen in all browsers on your iMac, or just particular ones. If you have not tested the site in a different browser, can you try that first?

  Any additional details you can provide would be a great help, thanks!

  Hi Jerry,

  thank you for getting back to me and sorry it’s taken a while to respond.
  I don’t have any other browser loaded onto my iMac. Just Safari. I’ve added the screenshot to my media library.

  Has it been a while since you have updated your browser? I am running the latest version 7.0.1 (537.73.11) and it appears that you are using an older version 5.1.10 (534.59.10)

  Can you confirm this by going to Safari>About Safari and let me know what you see?

  Since you mention that the site does well on this machine, what version of Safari is your Macbook on? Is it more recent than the one on your iMac?

  You are spot on. Safari on my iMac is 5.1.1 and on my MacBook I’m using 6.1

  Hi Zoe,

  Thanks for the additional detail. Safari 5 was first released in June 2010 and has received minimal updating, other than security updates, since Safari 6 was released in July 2012.

  Safari 6 requires OS X 10.7, and I see that you’re currently using OS X 10.6.8. If you can’t upgrade OS X further on your iMac, my best recommendation is to switch to a different browser that has a current version that will run on your iMac.

  You can check for this by visiting browsehappy.com. The Chrome browser will run on Mac OS X 10.6 or later, so it may be a good option for you.
