Appearance of Most Recent Post

  How do I have only the most recent post show up on my home page? I would like previous posts to be accessed through the archives and not show on the homepage. Apparently some setting was unknowingly changed and I cannot seem to get it back.

  Go to settings > reading and set the number of posts you wish to appear there.
