Appearance (Themes)

Why don’t the Theme previews display what my blog would look like as they used to do? I really need to be able to see a preview of my actual blog before I activate it. Why are things always changing? Why is the simple made difficult? I understand the motivation. WordPress wants to cater to business accounts so it has become less user friendly for personal blogs. I have low vision so being able to see an actual preview — instead of a generic live demo — is very useful to me. The current template is difficult for me to see, but I didn’t expect that switching it would be such a burdensome task. Does anyone consider these things?

So I figured out that I had to click “Try and Customize” in order to see an actual preview of my blog.

  • Hi there!

That’s right, to try themes without activating them, you need to click on the three dots next to the theme’s name and choose the option Try&Customize.

This will allow you to see how the theme would look like with your content and how you could customize it.
