appears a change in way ampersand is converted to tag / slug

  change in tag slug

  I have been using a tag “Ralph & Barbara” (without the quotes) that have a slug of ralph&barbara. Now appears the same tag creates a slug of ralph-barbara.

  this makes for a difficult time if not impossible to look up the tag, replace, etc.

  Including an ampersand in a category or tag is not wise and you just found that out. Use only relevant categories and tags supported by the post content and do not include any ampersands.

  Not a valuable comment after having it successfully been working for over 800 occurrences in over 2-3 years.

  My question is why has it changed recently? And what is the solution to prevent it happening.
