Appears that all CSS has disappeared when using my Imac

Saturday morning I was logging onto wordpress when the system seemed to stop without loading all the info properly. I clicked refresh and the screen that came up was themeless. I logged onto my blog and the theme was completely gone there too. It appears that all the CSS coding is not reading on my computer for everything on WordPress except when I am in editor which seems to be normal. No one’s blog shows their theme and what I see across WordPress is a screen with everything left justified with no themes with bright blue words where links would normally be. Pictures show up but they are randomly placed and not formatted. The odd thing is that every other site I have tried on the internet is totally normal. This only affects wordpress and apparently, only on my Imac. I have tried a PC laptop I have from work and it looks fine and a friend tried it on our work computers which are a mix of pc and mac and everything looks fine so it appears to be something just with my computer. I am mystified. Any help would be great.
Thanks. My wordpress blog is alittlenews.wordpress.com

What browser/version and OS version are you using?

Tried both firefox and safari browsers. The operating system is OSX Tiger.

Since it is effecting both browsers, it almost has to be something outside of them. Are there other people who use the computer who could have made a change?

Why it is effecting only WordPress and not other sites – and both browsers – leads me to believe it is a system setting problem. Are there other people who use this computer? Do you have “users” set up?

Check in system preferences > sharing > services, and at least temporarily uncheck all in the list (how mine is set). In the firewall tab, the only thing checked on mine is “adobe version cue CS3 server” (I have adobe design software, you may not) and network time. Uncheck all others.

In Safari in the safari menu, click “reset Safari” and let it reset everything. In Firefox, have clear your browser cache and cookies: Tools menu > Clear Private Data… select and deselect the options you want and then click “Clear Private Data Now.”

First of all make sure you remember your system password (that you enter when you do updates and such). Go into system preferences > accounts and create a new account – call it test, or whatever you wish. Set that user as an admin with no restrictions, set a password, and set it up so that you have to enter a password at startup. Then log out of your current user account (apple menu, bottom). Then log in to the test account and see if you can see the wordpress pages. If so, there is some setting that has been changed in your other account but I’m not sure exactly what it is.

thesacredpath Thanks for the suggestions. I tried them all and the situation is unchanged. I called an internet savy friend last night and he suggested that the wordpress server that hosts my blog might be updating or be having some trouble. Is that a possibility. Support seems to be temporarily unavailable or I would be asking them. Again, thanks for the help.

That is a possibility come to think of it. I had a time when I was getting no formatting on my page, but a friend on the east coast could see it fine.

If it persists, perhaps contact support and see what they have to say.
