Application Password Invisible
-
I need to generate an application password to use for an external app on my computer, but I can’t find it anywhere.
I’m using a free version of WordPress without any plugins enabled to make sure they won’t silently block this feature, like what some people encountered with Wordfence, but the issue was still there.
I followed the guide in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsz6hb1EUMY&ab_channel=StrangerStudios
However, the issue was that I couldn’t find the exact ‘Profile’ button in the Users section. Instead, it only has ‘My profile’ and ‘Personal settings’, and none of them show me the option to create application password.

Most of the so called WordPress instructional videos you find on the internet, are about the open source wordpress.org which differs from our wordpress.com platform.
You only find official documentation and instructions in our extensive documentation at https://wordpress.com/support/. When you search for ‘Application Password‘ you will be redirected to https://wordpress.com/support/third-party-applications/

Oh I got it. Had dug deeper in this article before asking but it didn’t help much. Thank you anyway.
