Apply for wordads

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to apply for wordads for my blog which has a custom domain, but it is saying it can’t find my blog.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s strange. No blogger initiated advertising is allowed on WordPress.com blogs. The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.

  • Hi there,

Your account is an admin on that site, but it’s not the owner. Only the username that owns the site (judging by the username your husband maybe?) can apply for WordAds, so if you visit the WordAds page while logged in as that account it should work.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

    Thanks for your help guys.

Yeah kokkieh, I tried to do the WordAds while logged in as my husband, and only his other blog came up in the list.

Interestingly, when I am logged in as me, and I go onto the settings for the site, I am the one with the WPAdmin link – my husband does not???

It’s getting really confusing and we are keen to monetize the blog with adverts asap.

Any further help will be most appreciated!

  • The reason your see the WP-Admin link and your husband doesn’t is because his account was created after we changed to the new interface. Your account is older, which is why you still see that link. It’s not related to who owns the site.

Only his account will be able to apply for WordAds, but it’s possible if you log in as him there are still cookies in your browser for your account that’s confusing our system. Please try logging in as him with a different browser, or even better using incognito mode in Chrome, and then visit the WordAds application page again.

Let us know if that also doesn’t work.
