Apply theme T of site B to a site w/o loosing the counter statistik
-
Hello,
I have 2 web sites running and want to apply the theme of the second one to my first web site … but _without_ loosing the counters or access statistics (otherwise I could simply set the redirect of my domain to the second site. I appreciate any help, especially on the “not loosing counters” issue. The current running web site is sicantiamo.wordpress.com and the site, where I want to take the theme from and apply it to sicantiamo is sicantiamoblog.wordpress.com which contains many tiles instead of a menu and lots of text.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Stats are not lost in switching from one theme to another, but widgets and custom menus may need to be reassigned after a switch. See the “things you’ll want to check afterward” list in the Switch Themes section of the Themes support page.
where I want to take the theme from and apply it to sicantiamo is sicantiamoblog.wordpress.com
I’m not sure what you mean by taking a theme from one site and applying it to another. The same theme can be applied to any number of sites, but it isn’t removed from one site and applied to the other. If you add theme T to site B, it will be the basic theme T. It wouldn’t have any of the customizations that you might have made to theme T on site A.
Stats are independent of the theme applied. However, it sounds like you want to have the stats from one site applied to another, which is not themes issue. If that’s what you mean, then I don’t see how that could be possible.
If your change your website address (URL) or transfer a site to another account (in both cases ideally with a site redirect upgrade added) then stats will remain intact.

If you change your website address (URL)…then stats will remain intact.
After consideration, I’m not sure about this. This may not be relevant to your case, but if stats are not automatically moved with a change of a website address to another previously non-existent address, then you may ask staff to migrate them for you.
You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar at right here to call for staff attention.

I don’t know if the “modlook theme counter” tag presently found in the sidebar will call for staff.

Hi @sicantiamo, as @musicdoc1 says, changing the theme of a site here will not affect stats or anything like that, but there may be a bit of reconfiguration as she says.
Can you verify that you are wanting to change from the Orvis theme to the Dyad 2 theme? If not, can you clarify a bit further for us?
-
@thesacredpath: Yes, I would like to apply the new theme Dyad 2 to the current web site, which is based on Orvis.
@all: I’ll try to go that way, so many thanks for all your help and suggestions. -
Thanks for the clarification @sicantiamo, let us know how things go, and if you have any problems.

Hello,
Finally here comes my feedback: I have applied the new theme to my web site without loosing any counters. The former pages have been kept and therefore also the counters. As the new theme is blog oriented, I had to update some links, but it didn’t take so much time. Again thanks a lot for your support.
best regards, Sicantiamo (Carsten) -
