Approval for comments without requiring approval when I link to my own post
-
Is it possible to require approval for comments on my page without requiring approval when I link from one of my posts or pages to another?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I believe you are referring to pingbacks. By default whenever we link to any site our own or another in any post or page the software automatically creates a pingback, which appears for approval along with comments. If that’s what you mean there is no way to automatically approve self-pings. http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/

that’s exactly what I was trying to figure out – thanks. Final q on this topic – if I schedule a future post containing a ping back – do I have to wait until that post is published to approve it?

Pingbacks do not happen until posts are actually published. Scheduled posts do not actually publish until the first visitor to the site after the date and time scheduled clicks in and triggers publication of the post.
