    Under Discussion Settings, what exactly do these two options mean?
    1. Comment must be manually approved
    2. Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    1) it means that no comments will show up until you’ve looked them over an approved them.

    2) means that if you approved one of this person’s comments in the past, their comments will go live as soon as they make them an you don’t have to review them.

    OK, thank you. Somehow I had 2) checked but not 1). (Now I’ve changed it to 1) not 2).) A friend, who hadn’t commented before, tried to comment, and nothing happened. Then he tried again, and WordPress said he was submitting a duplicate. Maybe his comment was put in the spam queue. Can I see that queue?
