Approved comments not showing up

Add topic to favorites
When I posted a blog today, I had two comments I approved that haven’t shown up in the comments section for the blog post. Is there something I need to do to get them to show up?

Are they appearing in your dashboard under Pending?

No. Sigh. They show up in my comments log (not sure of the correct word) as approved, but they don’t show up on the blog, nor do my responses to the comments. I’m still pretty new at this, so I’m not sure why this is happening.

Could you please give us a link to the specific post in question, and let us know the name for the commenter on the comment that isn’t showing?

I have the same problem. One of my blog entries has 4 comments, I can see them in my dashboard but cannot see them on the post. Can you help? My blog is marciasd.wordpress.com and the blog entry that I am referring to is http://marciasd.wordpress.com/2013/01/01/happy-new-2013-so-long-2012/

Actually is happening in most of the posts with comments…I do not understand. I have checked, allow comments..but nothing.

The comments you’re referring to as marked as pending approval. You can see these in the Comments section of your blog’s Dashboard.

At Settings -> Discussion in your blog’s Dashboard, you have chosen “Before a comment appears, an administrator must always approve the comment.”

This means that every posted comment will await your approval before appearing.

Thank you mancmanx, but I have approved all of the comments and they do not show on the blog. I can see them on my dashboard but not on my blog pages.

I followed all the instructions you mentioned on this post but nothing seems to work. I do not know what I am doing wrong. On the ‘screen options’ I select ‘discussions’ and ‘comments’. And when I go back to check the settings they are again un-selected. I do not understand.

You need to approve the comment with the Comments section of your Dashboard.

Go to the comment and hover your mouse over it and click the “approve” link.

The test comment is showing but the other ones aren’t, why would that be?

There are 4 previous, approved and replied to comments on that same blog entry, and another one in different one, but neither are showing.
