April Fools help
-
I want to run a story on April 1 that is semi-plausible. At the end, readers can click a link for “more information.” I want that to lead them to a single page that says “April Fool!” But it can’t be a new page on my blog, because I’d have to publish that first, and subscribers would see it. Any ideas on how I can link to a fresh page that says just “April Fool”?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
There are two types of content on a blog: a blog Post, and a Page. I believe only Posts are sent to subscribers, Pages are not.
So, you can create a new Page for this (Pages -> Add New Page in Dashboard). If you’re unsure, you can create a test Page first and see whether it is sent to subscribers (it won’t be).
To completely hide that Page, you will also have to make sure that no area in your blog links to that Page. I see that your website has a Pages Widget (http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/pages-widget/) on your sidebar. It will automatically display the new Page you make for April Fools, so use the “Exclude” option on the widget to exclude that particular page.
If all this sounds too complicated, well, you could just register a new blog here and fill it with the April Fool note, and then link there :)

THANKS, hfzrhmn. The “page” idea is a very good one, along with the added advice. Creating a new blog is also a good idea — maybe one with an April Fool’s theme :)
Much appreciated!
