Archive help!
-
I’m stuggling to change my settings so that only the latest few posts show on my page. I want all older posts to be archived (so they can be accessed by clicking the ‘show older posts’ button at the bottom of the page). I’ve already changed the reading settings ‘show blog pages’ to 3 but all posts are still there. Is it the theme that isn’t very ‘archive’ friendly? I’m using Tarski.
Also, my posts are not in chronological order, although I’ve not never altered the settings for this.
Any help much appreciated.

The good news is that your blog is operating notmally; nothing is “wrong” and nothing needs to be “fixed”. Every time we publish a post that post is automatically displayed in the Archives pages. That same post will also be automatically displayed in the Categories and Tags pages in accord with the categories and tags we assigned to the post.
Also note this:

In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/category/archive-pages/If you wish to display excerpts only in the posts on your front page that’s easily done by inserting “the more tag” into the text of each post at the point you want it to “break”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

The conventional structure of a blog, wordpress blogs included is to display all posts in reverse chronological order. If your blog is not diplaying the most recent posts on top then you will need to contact Staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
