archive page
-
Hi,
I am very computer and code illiterate but I would like to know how to set up an archive page based on posts, not category, subject or month. The default template for archive only shows categories, not individual posts.
Also, I keep clicking on displaying the posts as summaries on the “setting-“reading” tab and it doesn’t respond. Please help!

This guide explains all of the different ways you can show your blog archive on your Archives page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/The shortcode [archives format=option] would display all of your posts. Is that what you’re looking for?

FINALLY! I got rid of the option on the sidebar that said “archives” and used “default template” instead. Then typed in “archives” in HTML. Can’t even begin to figure out how to organize the entries by category but this is a start. Thank you Macmanx and Evarlese. If either can help me to get the format to display summary instead of the whole entry: been clicking on the option in the Setting- read section with no results, that would be awesome!

That particular setting is only for the RSS feed.
For the main blog, you’ll need to manually split the post with a More tag: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
