archive widget

  I’m trying to get the month of June (2014) to display in my archive widget box/pull down. I can’t seem to figure out how to do this correctly. I’ve already looked at this link:

  I still don’t see how I can get the months to display. I just started this blog last month so only have June to archive at this point.

  I cannot find a single post on your site (except for the blank post titled “Archives” published today), only static pages. The archive widget only displays published posts, which contain a date in the URL and forms part of your blog’s RSS feed. Pages are not bound to a date and are not displayed in your archives as they fall outside the blog’s RSS feed. If it’s not showing anything for June it’s because you didn’t publish any posts in June.

  I’m so new to this…..so thanks for explaining it to me. I didn’t realize that pages were not archived as well.

  I really appreciate your review and input. This will help me reorganize my layout (in anticipation for archives) in the months ahead!!!!!

  No problem. You might also consider creating a page that displays your main feed, i.e. posts. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

  Is this also true for posts that have been back dated and flagged as “Private”? will they also not display under Archives if they are not published as “Public”?

  I quickly tested that and it seems not. Only public posts or password protected posts seem to show up in the Archive widget. Keep in mind, private posts are only visible to administrators and editors on the blog.
