Archive Widget – list posts by day?

    Hi
    I’m completely new to WordPress – I noticed that when I first got my blog going I could change the Archive section in the sidebar to show posts by day (instead of month which is the default).

    Then I got on with adding widgets which as most of you will know just wipes the contents of the sidebar out (to be replaced by the appropriate widget).

    Is there a way to customise the Archives widget (as opposed to the default Archives sidebar section) so that I can show Archives by day?

    If that isn’t possible is there any way to get the old Archives section back (without getting rid of all my widgets)?

    Hope someone out there can help… :)
