Archived website before moving to new website

Hi, I just accidentally archived the old version of my website before moving unlocking my domain. The old website was ______.org and now it is ______archive.org. Unfortunately both now say that they do not exist. Thank you for your ideas!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

What you’re describing is not possible on WordPress.com, so you’re using the open source WordPress.org software at another host. Please contact your hosting provider directly for help – this archiving would be a feature they offer, as it’s also not something that’s standard in the WordPress software.

    Hi Kokkieh,

Thank you for your thoughts and for your help.

The archive is not a technical function built in. It was simply changing the URL so it would function as an “archive” and not have the same URL as the updated site, so I do believe it is on WordPress. I could be wrong though! Now, we are not able to use the secure login to access the website.

  • The site uses a different version of WordPress.

Here, at WordPress.com, we offer a managed environment. We provide the support and technical help for the site, we also include your hosting.

Your site is running on the open source WordPress installation. That’s community maintained. Help comes from your hosting provider or https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
