Some blogs have a section that stores posts by month, which saves readers from having to scroll through everything to get what they want. Do I have to change the format of my blog to get the Archive capability?

The easiest way to do that would be to manually create a page titled “Archive” and then use the Archive shortcode explained here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/
Can you give that a try? There are a variety of ways to customize the shortcode to spit out exactly what you want. Let me know if you run into any questions!
