Archives as a menu drop-down

  Hi everyone. Looking for a solution to create a drop down menu for archives; any suggestions? Do I create a custom page? If so, what code do I put in the URL field? I would like the archives to be a drop-down menu–not an inside page. Help!

  Archive widget – drop-down Archives widget option. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/archives-widget/

  If you do not use widgets on your blog then you can create a static page and use the archives shortcode to generate a list. However, it will not be a drop-down list.

  Thanks timethief for your reply! I’ve created a photography blog, and I’d rather not have archives as a widget (it will reduce the size of images by adding a side-column). I’d prefer to have archives in the main menu bar––any help there? Many thanks.
