Archives by year
-
Hi, I was wondering if I can archive my posts by year, instead of months… I started posting in 2003 and would like very much to have annual archives, like 2003, 2004, 2005 and so on… is that possible? How do I do it? Thanks!

You could use a text widget and create the year archives with HTML. As an example…
<ul> <li><a href="http://ivelise.wordpress.com/2008/">2008</a></li> <li><a href="http://ivelise.wordpress.com/2007/">2007</a></li> </ul> -
Hi mtdewvirus,
Where should I add this text widget? I am not an expert in wordpress…
Thanks! -
Go to Design -> Widgets in your dashboard. Click “Add” on the text widget (from the left side). Once it is added to your “Current Widgets” list, you can paste the above code (thanks to mtdewvirus) into the Text widget.

I did that and it worked very well, thanks a lot! However, when I go to my blog now, everything else in my sidebar disappeared, like my LINKS and CATEGORIES, etc. What should I do now? Thanks.

I got it, I just had to add those widgets again and it worked. Just one last question, can I format the title of my Archives? I put the name ARCHIVES, but it’s in a different format than the other widget titles. Thanks!

Try this:
<h2>Archives</h2> <ul> <li><a href="http://ivelise.wordpress.com/2008/">2008</a></li> <li><a href="http://ivelise.wordpress.com/2007/">2007</a></li> </ul> -
