Archives – can I display by day/post?
-
Hi,
I’m new today to WordPress, just testing my blog, and wonder if someone could help…
I’d like to display the blog archives as a list by the title of each post.
I see that if I click on a month it then takes me to a new page which lists each post for that month, however that’s a 2-step process and most blogs I’ve seen can do it in 1 step. Blogspot blogs do this, for example look at the archive list of http://foodoneart.blogspot.com/
Is this a limitation of the WordPress platform, that it isn’t possible to display archives in that way? Or is it just a limitation of the WordPress.com host (i.e. could I achieve what I want by hosting my blog elsewhere)? Thanks in advance for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For some reason the above post didn’t list my blog, which is:

Some themes now have the Archive page which does this sort of thing automatically, but most don’t.

Thanks for the reply, raincoaster.
I did find that Archive page, which I’ve used in my info section as “list of all entries ever!”, but that still requires the 2 step process of jumping to a new page with a list of all entries and then clicking on one of them.
Is there in fact no equivalent of the “hierarchical dropdown” style archives I linked to in the first post above? -

That is correct, there is in fact no equivalent of the Hierarchical dropdown style archives you linked to in the first post above. You can request the feature by contacting staff directly from the Support page.
