Archives for Blog

Do my blog posts automatically archive at the end of each month or do I have to enter a special code to do it? And when they archive are they automatically not shown in the “all posts” section of the dashboard? I have several posted and several in draft form and the list is getting quite long!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there Deborah, For the sake of your readers, your posts are automatically archived by month. I see you have an active Archives widget running in your sidebar.
This does not impact All Posts in your Dashboard, however. You will see a list of every Post you’ve written, in chronological order. This list will not be archived. If you want to filter your Posts so you only have to view a specific month, it can be done manually with each viewing.
At the top of your All Posts list, you’ll see a drop down box displaying All Dates. You can change this to a specific month, and then click filter.
You can also use the categories drop down box.
Notice, too, the links about those drop downs:
All (20) | Published (6) | Drafts (14) | Trash (3)
You can select “Drafts” to view only those Posts.
Hope this sheds some light on the topic! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks much.

OK. So I’m assuming the “recent posts” on the public page show the last five that were published? Then they archive as appropriate?
