archives problem
-
I can’t understand why my archives widget has changed, so that when you click on, say, August, only one post is listed on the “summary page” instead of 9 or 10, which means that browsing the archives is cumbersome. It wasn’t like that before and it’s not like that on the same-themed westsideaction.wordpress.com
Perhaps related is my problem with comments – even if people’s comments after a post show up, it still reads “0 comments.” Huh?
I tried reinstalling the widget and everything else I could think of, but I’m flummoxed, so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig

You’ve set up the Reading Settings on your site bellscorners.wordpress.com to display one post per page. This also affects the archives and category pages. If you want more posts to display per page, then you will need to change this setting. Five per page is about the optimum. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/reading-settings/#blog-posts-per-page
If your posts are very long, there are a couple of ways you can truncate them. If your theme supports using Excerpts you can create a short teaser in place of the post text on the front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/
You can also use the “More” tag to abbreviate your posts on the front page of your site. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

I’m still wondering why I get comments on posts – eg.
http://bellscorners.wordpress.com/2012/01/08/outdoor-rink-report/
– and above the comments it says “0 responses to outdoor rink report” even when it’s not true. There’s definitely something wonky there, no?
Thanks, Craig

On some recent posts, eg.
http://bellscorners.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/two-more-bite-the-dust/
above the comments it says “0 responses to two more bite the dust” even when it’s NOT true – several approved comments are displayed.Anyone know why?
Thanks, Craig
