Archives Visibility Not Working

    Hello
I have added the Archives Widget to my Sidebar. I am trying to change the visibility so that only a specific Category is included in the Archives however whenever I add the Visibility criteria, the Widget dissappears from my HomePage despite there being a qualifying Blogpost with the correct criteria.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

The visibility settings in any WordPress.com widget, including the Archives widget, cannot be used to determine what is displayed in it. Visibility settings can only be used to limit where the widget will be displayed.

If you look at the category options in the visibility settings, you’ll find that they include “All category pages” and each of the individual categories assigned to various posts. Each single category there represents a category page. So if you choose “Show if Category is X” in the visibility settings, then it will only display on category page X, and nowhere else. If you choose “Show if Category is All category pages, then it will only display on all category pages and nowhere else. Consequently the widget will not appear on the homepage, since the homepage cannot be a category page.

Where the widget may be displayed can also be determined by the theme design itself, and, if applicable on the theme being used, at Content Options settings. I was unable to determine the theme activated on the site https://agentrestauranteur.wordpress.com.

if applicable on the theme being used, at Content Options settings

I should have said that depending upon the theme activated there might be other settings at Customize (possibly under Content Options or Theme Options) that can have an affect on where widgets will be displayed.
