Archives widget – all links go to one wrong URL

  I have an “Archives” widget which I have named “PREVIOUS Reports”; this displays as a dropdown menu, with counts.
  However, every item seems to link to one URL, which is a Georgia Straight article – which happens to be the link from a Text widget higher up named “New Articles”.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Same sidebar (Theme Pilcrow), different widget, same problem! A “Categories” widget named “Search by LOCATION or special BIRD” has many drop-down choices; every one of these leads to that SAME external URL, i.e. the link from the Text widget “New Articles”.
  Both the “Archives” widget and “Catagories” widget were working perfectly a month ago – WHAT HAPPENED???

  Since nobody has responded, I DELETED the Text widget “New Articles”; this seems to have restored the correct function of both the “Archives” widget and the “Categories” widget, which are now retrieving the correct previous Blogs. But I don’t understand why the Text widget I deleted (containing a URL) could hijack all the links on these other widgets.

  It sounds to me as if there was an improperly closed link in the text widget. Probably a missing or misformatted:

  </a>

  Without the seeing the text that was in there, it would be hard for me to know for sure.
