Archiving all pages under one date
-
Can I ARCHIVE everything (Post and PAGES) under a particular date? My site is set up like a magazine and I want all the pages for a particular issue (say Dec. 2007) to be archived under one date. I don’t want to delete the pages each time if I don’t have to.

you will have to edit the timestamp manually for each of your post of page. you can’t set it to just dec 2007, you have to put a proper date like 1 dec 2007. you can easily do this each time you begin a new post or page by editing the timestamp (look at the right side of your editor for ‘post timestamp’).

Okay. Thanks. (I’ve used the timestamp before for my major post)
So if I just change the timestamp on each of my published pages to the same time and date, all those pages will be grouped together under one archive category. Right? -
I just noticed that there is NO TIMESTAMP for PAGES. Only for POSTS. So now I’m at a loss as to how to timestamp all my pages so they will be archived under one date. ?

Posts are archived – Pages are not
Posts are part of an ongoing document that is categorised and usually related to a point in time – you would make an entry about what you did that day for instance.
A Post will always be added to the top of main page of the blog. As they are published other posts will move down and when they drop off the front page you can get to them using the Archives links, category links or at the bottom of the blog will be a link to ‘Previous Entries’.
Pages are not part of that same ongoing document but they complement it, add to it, provide additional information. They are not categorised. They may not be related to time.
A Page is something on it’s own. It is added as a new part of the blog. An ‘About’ page is the classic example.
If you have the Pages widget in your sidebar the new page will be listed there. If you have 50 pages and you have that widget then all pages will be listed all the time.
