Archiving comics in a specific page?

I’ve been doing a lot of digging around and I haven’t been able to find anything that solves my specific problem, so I figured I’d post my own topic.

Basically, I’m looking to host a webcomic on my site, but confine it to a specific page, if that makes sense. I want to get a standard “webcomic viewer” format that can freely scroll through the images in a traditional webcomic style, but because I’m doing a chapter-based release with 20+ pages at once I don’t want all the images flooding the homepage on release day. How would I achieve this? Should I use ComicEasel? If so, how do I get the comics to be confined to a specific page?

Hi there! We do have a theme that’s designed specifically for webcomics called Panel:

    https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/panel/

Does that look like it will work for you?

Hi, thanks for your quick response… This is kind of in the vein of what I’m looking for, but what I want is a way to isolate that theme to a particular page/section of the site. Does that make any sense? Is that possible?

Sure! You could do this with multiple WordPress.com sites and a custom domain. You’d set up a subdomain like comic.yourdomain.com and point it to the Panel themed site. And then a second WordPress.com site would have yourdomain.com and have the other theme you want.

Does that sound like it would work for you?

Hm, is there any way I can do it in free WP? I’d also prefer it be in a page, but a subdomain could work if necessary.

You could do it for free, but the URLs for the two sites would be different. For example, yoursite.wordpress.com and yoursitecomic.wordpress.com. You wouldn’t be able to make them have the same URL because we can’t enable a particular theme on only one page of a site.

You can probably do this on a self hosted WordPress though! It won’t be free either though.

    Hope this helps!
