Archiving old posts

Is there a way to archive all my old posts so they only show up in the archive widget? I only want the current month’s posts to show on my page.

On WordPress websites the archive doesn’t work the same as, say, your email account where the inbox and archive are separate.
The main feed for posts on your site is also the posts archive, so technically a post is added to the archive the moment it is published. The main feed of your site will always show all published post/the entire archive. You cannot set it to only show the current month.
To do that you’ll need to set a static page as your site’s front page, and use the Display Posts shortcode to only show the current month’s posts on that page. You’ll need to manually update that shortcode to the new month each month.
