Archiving posts

Is there a way to force posts off the front page? I don’t want to delete them, and I do want them to still be viewable to anyone who wants to, but I don’t want them cluttering up the front page of my blog.

It’s possible to change the front page of your blog to just a page, if that’s what you mean. Go to dashboard -> settings -> reading and change your “front page display” to the static page.

ah perfect, that’ll work. Actually, what I’ll do is use the next entry down: Blog pages to show at most X posts. Thanks much

Glad you found it. That’s what I was going to suggest.
I will suggest, though, that you link your user name to your blog. From the sticky at the top of the forum:
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.
