Archiving/"Archives"
-
I have two questions: I have a Page that I will do new Post for once a week – is there a way to Archive Posts from my Pages without copying/pasting? Also, what have I set up wrong that’s causing all my Categories to show “Archives” at the top of the ‘page’? I already set up Archives widget. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you read this? http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
I think it may assist you.
Post all go to our posts “page” unless you put them on an actual page.

OK, thanks! I admit I still need to study more on the differences; still in the first week of my blog, so some things I’m still playing around with to see what works best.
What about my Categories all showing “Archives” when I already have Archives set up? What did I do incorrectly on that? Thanks!!

What it shows as a title at the top of an archive, categories or tags page is theme specific. Some say “Archive for category [category name]” and some show something different.

Yes, it is set in the underlying theme PHP script files and we cannot edit those. Each theme designer decides what they are going to display at the top of the archive type pages (archives, categories, tags, and even the “author specific page).

If you don’t like that heading, you can select a theme that displays a different heading (or no heading at all). See here:
