Are Edited Posts Re-Emailed to Those Who Subscribe By Email?
-
If I edit a post after publishing it, I am wondering what happens for those who subscribe to posts by email? They obviously get sent the original post, but what about subsequent posts that reflect any edits that I have made? Do they get sent a new email of the post every time it’s updated, or are they just sent the original post?

They get sent the original post, same as RSS subscribers. Some people edit posts innumerable times, and resending each time would be hugely annoying to readers as well as a waste of resources.

YOu’re welcome. If you do a short post saying “This post was updated” and link to the post, that will go out in an email.

I think it would be worth a try if an option to send an email (after your post is made) could also be made available for the bloggers. I understand that RSS is behind the mechanism and with Twitter we expect live auto-posting without any delay, but email by design is not live (though technically it is) and this email option – particularly for those who are receiving instant email and not daily digest – is frustrating if you make a mistake posting your blog and later have to correct it.
