Are Gallery pictures protected if the post they’re in is protected?

    I was wondering if pictures I post on password-protected posts (for just my family to see since I gave them the password) that are inserted into a gallery, are visible to the public, or are only visible to those who enter the password since I put them in a protected post.

    Basically, I don’t want to have gone through the trouble of making picture posts to my family password protected in order to keep my kids images not in the public realm, only to find that anyone could access my gallery. I guess I’m going to go check a few inidividual photos and see if there is any setting on them that I might need to fiddle with.

    If you’ve password protected a post, the images shouldn’t be visible regardless whether they are individual photos or displayed in a Gallery.

    But, I’d send a note along to support asking them specifically and pointing them to this thread in the forums.

    Thinking aloud, you can check this yourself by logging out of WordPress.com, clearing your browser cache (most important!) and then trying to access either the link to the image attachment page or the image.
