Are ISPs blocking WordPress pages AGAIN?

  I’m having extreme difficulty downloading articles from my own blog today, and I’m wondering if ISPs have started blocking WordPress again. This happens if they discover someone has been using the site to publish questionable material.

  Is WordPress dealing with such an issue today? How long until it is likely to be sorted?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You’re not alone. I’ve also lost access via my PC / laptop.

  I remain unconvinced as to it being ISPs blocking WordPress, as while it seems to happen around once a quarter, when it happens, it seems to be it appears entirely indiscriminate. While some TalkTalk users from the UK are affected, for example, others are not. Were it ISP-specific, one would expect all users with a given ISP to be equally affected.

  The other oddity is that while I’m unable to reach my blog via my PC or laptop over my home Internet connection, I *can* still reach it using my Android tablet over the same connection, either via the WordPress app OR (more particularly) via the web browser (I use firesfox on the PC, Laptop and tablet). Again, were this a case of ISP blocking, I’d have thought I’d have the same connectivity issues when using the tablet browser.

  Another possibility is that WordPress is doing an upgrade of some kind and the software is interfering with our equipment. That would explain why some of your platforms can still get it, and possibly why it’s only affecting some of my pages.

  YES. I can’t believe we are going through this AGAIN and WordPress will have to learn AGAIN … after the usual delay … what the issue is, while we are locked out of our sites.

  I’m having the ‘no data received’ demon appearing again on my blog. I’m with Talk Talk in Glasgow and using Chrome. It only started today.

  Thanks for letting us know about this. This is a recurring issue that comes up with British ISPs from time to time. We will do what we can on our end, but in the meantime, please keep an eye out here for updates.

  I’m on TalkTalk, home counties, UK.

  As noted above, for me, the issue only occurs when using either my PC or Laptop. When using the same home connection and Firefox, Chrome or Dolphin via my Nexus 7 tablet, no issues are encountered.

  System details:

  PC: Win 7/64 + SP1. Issue occurs using Firefox 29.0.1, Chrome 34.0.1847.137 m and IE 11.0.9600.

  Laptop: Win 7/32 + SP1. Issue occurs using Firefox 29.0.1, Chrome 34.0.1847.137 m and IE 11.0.9600.

  Tablet: Android 4.4.2. *no issues encountered over the same ISP connection* using Firefox 29.0.1, Chrome 30.0.1599.105, Dolphin v11

  Thanks for the information. To confirm, when you use your tablet, are you connecting via wifi or a mobile internet connection?

  As stated, when using the tablet I’m using the *same* TalkTalk connection (i.e. via my router) as per the PC / Laptop. The Tablet does not have a sim option, so no direct connectivity to modbile internet.

  I’m also deliberately connecting via browsers, rather than using the WP Android app.

  im in morocco and dont know what talktalk is…
  i opened a new page to write a blog and the open media doesnt open…i can upload photos to my library via the sidebar…but have no idea to download on my latest blog page….wordpress has changed the media link and I DONT LIKE IT

  Yes, they have changed things and that’s a completely different issue. Please do a search of the forum for that. There are many threads here about it.

  thanks raincoaster…but the point of the matter is that the link for OPEN MEDIA…is NOT opening for me….AND i uploaded a photo from the side bar and cant find it because this link wont open….
