Are my own views counted as stats from my dashboard?

    I was working on my posts from the dashboard, updating them to justify format, and then I noticed I had several views originating from the WordPress Dashboard, in my stats. So are my own views counted in my stats?

    Your views should only count in your stats if you have a private blog. Since your blog is public, your views shouldn’t be counted. I’d be happy to investigate this for you if you’d like!

    To help me understand what’s going on here, can you describe the steps you took (what page you started on and what links and buttons you clicked) while you were working on your posts? Also, did you view your site using incognito or private browsing mode in your browser? Thanks!

    First thanks for your response…and the time was 11:11…the master number!

    Well, here’s what I did:
    I was signed in and went to my dashboard. (I’m not familiar with incognito or private browsing mode.) From there I clicked ‘Posts’. Then starting with the most recent, I clicked ‘edit’, selected the text body of the post, then selected, ”align full’ option. Then I clicked ‘update’ and then ‘view post’.

    From that page, I guess it’s called the home/archive page, I went to the next post, (by scrolling down the page, and also on some, by clicking the title of the posts in the sidebar) clicked ‘edit’ and followed the exact same process, until all my posts were updated. Don’t know if you need it but my site is: soulsoothinsounds.wordpress.com

    Not sure if it matters, but I’m using Fjords 04, a theme that is discontinued. Also, as I looked back, the # of views from the WordPress dashboard, according to my stat page, is only 3, whereas when I first saw it, the # was higher.

    The views for that time period just seemed unusually high.
