Are sponsorships and text advertisements allowed?

    I’ve read the Advertising page (http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/) and WordAds pages, but I was still wondering about the following things: sponsorship and text advertisements.
    1. Am I allowed to get organizations or brands to sponsor my blog and the activities I write about on TenTinyPaintings.wordpress.com or TheGoalList.wordpress.com?
    2. I know banner image ads are not allowed, but am I allowed to have non-image containing text ads or sponsored links that are not provided by a 3rd party ad network? (for example, if I contact organizations on my own, and put their link in a text widget or within a post?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    We do not allow outside advertising or sponsored content on WordPress.com.

    You can thank organizations for assisting with events or other sponsored activities.
