Mine seem to be sluggish too. I’ve just checked by refreshing a post in IE (which I don’t use, so WP doesn’t recognise me), several times – those hits appeared OK. Maybe it’s just a slow day…

Mine have been fine. Remember it usually takes at least a minute for the page & stats to refresh, count, and all that jazz.

Our stats (languageandgrammar.com) are off about 50% from last week, so we’ve been suspicious of problems all week. We’ve had a consistent upward trend from week to week for months, except for decreases for holidays and some natural ebb and flow. A 50% decrease for no reason has never happened, and I’ve wondered if the stats problem from last Friday was every accurately corrected.
Has anyone else noticed a big decrease in the week as a whole?

@languageandgrammar : My stats were growing rapidly and I picked few days before the stats incident…since then they are been greatly reduced , almost stuck for hours on end…I contact support and they told me the stats are working but the referrals are not as they used to and also the posts with more traffic are really strange…like post from last months or December?? I don’t know what’s happening, only consolation for me is that it’s clearly not only me :(

leilanimorey–we’re definitely in the same situation. Our stats have been consistently increasing–almost every week–but this week is at a level that we haven’t seen consistently for months. When support says that referrals are not working as they used to, do they mean that we’re getting fewer hits from referrals or that the referrals are not being tracked the same?
I’m also glad to hear that other people are having the same problem since it’s clear that there is a problem!

@languageandgrammar : Support never said to me the referrals are not working but it’s clear to me something is not right as they have completely changed and are greatly reduced since last week-end when the stats got stuck. :( I have no idea…I feel bad because I don’t understand what’s going on..at first I blamed my bad luck but it’s been one week now…it’s like all the readers I had just vanished…

Thanks for the info leilaniamorey. I hope that they will now understand that there is a problem and correct it. Too many people with consistent stats track records are having a problem for it not to be systematic. WordPress is great and has always done a great job, so I’m sure that they’ll figure it out.

Hmm… Since my last post my hits have gone up by 30, so I’m back to more or less normal for this time of day. Referals, though, your’re right, they’re way out of whack.

A day later, and either all my readers have been abducted by aliens, or there really is a problem with the stats. Mine are down about 50% this morning
@languageandgrammar Just checked the stats summary page and, in a period of steady growth, week on week, last week I was down over 17%.

My stats froze about an hour ago too. I know from my clicky account that I’ve been getting frequent hits during that time.
