Are subscribers emailed immediately – I posted an article by mistake

    Hi folks

I have a number of blogs, and accidentally posted an article which was meant for one blog on another. I trashed the article, but will the people who subscribe by email still receive an email alert telling them about it, even though the email has been trashed?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I went to preview a post I was writing to check a hyperlink and I hit publish by accident. After a “NO!” and a scramble to re-load the page to make it stop…. I checked and it had gone out. It wasn’t finished. I had to send a second one out saying “please delete the last post” and then delete both of them.

Is there a way to get a warning before publishing? Something like: “are you sure you want to publish this”…..kind of like Word asking if you want to save before closing a document.

Both Preview and Publish are “P” words on the right side fairly close to each other. I’ve done this once before and now again. We’re not supposed to be glad our followers are few. And, I can’t imagine I’m the only one who’s done this.

Any chance of this addition? Thanks.

Thanks timethief for your answer, although it is a shame emails go out immediately. That will teach me ay! : )

I no longer sweat this. I goofed a couple of times but my readers were forgiving. :)

It sure upset me. I haven’t posted for quite sometime and then to send out a post that’s still a bit of a mess is embarrassing. It looks unprofessional even if just a mistake. It didn’t add well to my day either.

I had drafted in Word so as to minimize any goof ups but I had to check my hyper links. Any idea if WordPress is considering adding the feature I mentioned above? Is there a plugin for it? How can I suggest it to them or request it?

    thanks.

We have Preview function that we can use for viewing drafts prior to publication. As far as I know there are no plans to introduce another feature at this time.

Thanks for your help. I posted a somewhat controversial topic on my other blog for more gentle souls, which is also my professional site. At times like this I am glad only to have a small number of email subscribers and there were maybe just a couple of people I didn’t want to see it. Oh well, my lesson has been learnt : )

    You’re welcome.

Hi, I was aiming for the Preview button but was focused on my writing and checking the links that I hit the other P word that is just below it. They are on the same side and pretty close to each other Publishing is a big action and you can’t undo it…kind of like closing a document…. “Do you want to save first?” was added because people used to accidentally close without saving first.

Anyway, I will endeavour to be more careful but I think it could be a very logical and welcomed feature.

Is there a way to make suggestions/requests to the creators of WordPress to add this?

    Thanks.
