Are the base site and base url required in the WordPress export file?

  I exported my blog from wordpress.
  I saw the following lines:
  <wp:base_site_url>http://wordpress.com/</wp:base_site_url&gt;
  <wp:base_blog_url>http://sambixly.wordpress.com</wp:base_blog_url&gt;
  Now I want to import the data into another wordpress blog, will the export file still work even if the old blog no longer exists? In other words, are these tags required and are being validated?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  They aren’t entirely necessary. They’re only used to bring over images and media files during the import process, but if your source blog has been deleted, that won’t be possible anyway.
