Are the google bots also indexing the text in the text widgets?

Dear All,
I have a WP.com Blog that has a very high google ranking.Moving content landing page to text widget in footer – bad for seo?
One year ago I was a complete strater and just created lots of content (keywords) on that landing page. But it now looks ugle being very long (can scrol on and on) + potential customers give feedback it is ugly so that leave the Blog.
I am thinking to use the text widget and put the keywords , key content in those widgets, so the site starts looking a bit better.
Are the google bots also indexing the text in the text widgets? In the same way or do ‘they’ like it more when key content is in the text fiels instead of the widget.
