Are the laws on posting other peoples pictures?

  Hi,

  I was just curious to know about posting pictures on your blog from say google images or else where, do you have to ask for permission to use them or reference them or anything?

  I’ve tried searching up the rules and everything about wordpress but not finding exactly what I want to know.
