Are the shortlinks lost when buying a domain?

  I am interested in buying a domain. However, I do not want to lose the viral reach generated. If I acquire the domain, will the links still work? (not only the link to the mainpage but also the shortlinks to the posts)

  Yes, the existing links will be redirected tp the new domain.
