are the site stats of independent visitors?

  on the wordpress site stats page, are the “views” independent visitors from unique IPs?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  WordPress.COM stats counts Page / Post views not visitors or unique IP’s. There are other services that will do visitors.

  Though WordPress.com stats do not provide “unique” visitors and IPs and countries and brwsers used, etc., there are free third party non-Javascript visitor tacking programs we can use on WordPress.com blogs.
